Day tour

This day tour consists of a combination of our Glacier and our Black Beach tour.

Glacier: On this 3 hour tour we climb up high into the mountains of Eyjafjöll. On the way up you will cross some streams and take a few breaks to let the horses rest and give you the opportunity to enjoy the stunning views and take pictures. When the weather is good you will have a great up-close view of Eyjafjallajökull. This is the glacier that erupted in 2010 and shut down the air traffic in a big part of Europe for several weeks.
What comes up must go down so after this we head all the way down again back towards the farm.

Beach: On this 3 hour tour we ride over gravel roads and through fields towards the black sand beaches. On the way we ride through a big river and you get to enjoy the beautiful views over the fields. When the weather is good you have a great view over the Eyjafjallajökull glacier and the Westman Islands. Because we ride only over flat land this tour is perfect to ride a bit faster and try the famous gait of the Iceland horse: the tölt.

After the morning ride we invite you in our restaurant to enjoy a warm lunch to help you gather your strengths again for the afternoon ride.

We recommend this tour for experienced riders that want to combine a scenic, adventurous ride with a faster ride to get to know all the aspects of the Icelandic horse. If you are less experienced, it is important to realise that it can be tough to sit in the saddle for 6 hours and that you really have to be in a good physical condition and up for the adventure!
