Day 1. Pick up skalakot. Drive up the mountains into the highland (2 hour drive). Fishing around Landmannhellir in different lakes for brown trout and char. There are 13 different lakes to try and the beautiful landscape surrounding us. Possible to go in landmanalaugar hotspring after a long day off fishing. We stayed in a simple mountain hut for the night.
Day 2. We stay in the same area and take another day fishing the different lakes at Landmannhellir. It’s a big area to cover and many lakes so it’s good to have 2 days here. Stay another day in the same hut.
Day 3. On this day we head to new waters. We leave the hut and drive for about 1,5 hours to a beautiful river with many pools and small waterfalls aiming for big char. We will take our time here to explore the many spots in this river before we head back to Skalakot hotel.
Day 4. The last day off fishing is on the lowland near the hotel. We go looking for seatrout (small possibility of salmon) in one or two rivers (depending on how it goes and what you feel like).
Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the highland will be easy and simple (first 3 day)
